The March 2009 edition of The Atlantic Monthly had an interesting article titled “How the Crash will Reshape America” by Richard Florida.  In the article, Florida explores what may be the catalysts for economic growth in an economy reshaped by the recession, including “talent clusters” and “urban metabolism,” whereby mega-cities/regional hubs will thrive because of their ability to attract highly-educated talent.   I would also argue that a strong entrepreneurial community is a key element of these theories and a strong contributor to a city’s economic growth.
