On Friday, April 11, five DePaul students participated in the 2008 Chicago Innovation Chase, presented by the Entrepreneurship Program at the Illinois Institute of Technology and its student organization, the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Academy.

The 2008 Chicago Innovation Chase was one part scavenger hunt, one part business building, and one part invention in which participants competed for a top prize of $2,500. Teams of undergraduate entrepreneurs from eight universities participated in the fast-paced competition, which took place at multiple locations in downtown Chicago.

DePaul team members included: Tchoudomir Goranov (Freshman; Major: Accounting and finance); Hunter Manzo (Senior; Major: Management); Jennifer Moran (Junior; Major: Marketing and entrepreneurship); Grant Nickelsen (Senior; Major: Management); Suhail Pothigara (Junior; Major: MIS).

The theme of this year’s Chase was the development of a new product or service. Starting with a single clue, participants had to complete many tasks over a period of five hours, including a written opportunity assessment, a rapid prototyping exercise, and several other challenges.

Congratulations to the DePaul team for giving an outstanding effort in completing the challenge among the other participating universities: Illinois Institute of Technology, Kettering University, Lawrence Technological University, Milwaukee School of Engineering, Saint Louis University, University of Chicago, and Valparaiso University.
