NextBigThing First Round Winners

Congratulations to the following teams who have been selected to move on to the second round for NextBigThing - the competition that challenges DePaul students to submit their great ideas for new products, businesses, and social ventures!  One of these three teams will be selected as the NextBigThing@DePaul, and will win a $500 American Express gift card.

NextBigThing@Law Winner: Michele Raven, SMAC (Snail Mail Art Collective)

The goal of SMAC! (Snail Mail Art Collective) is to create a forum for artistic expression and foster an artistic outpouring of diverse thoughts, ideas and beliefs.  Artists can submit their work through the internet as well as through postage paid postcards and it will be displayed online. 

NextBigThing@Commerce Winner: Brian Fritton, Titan Hotspots

Titan Hotspots offers an out-of-the-box wireless internet hotspot solution to businesses of all types.  The focus is to add value to a client’s business with an affordably priced, end-user secure, and extremely simple way of offering wireless internet. 

NextBigThing@CDM Winner: Jefferey Saiger, Support America

Support America is a plan to integrate specialized charter high schools, high tech vocational training, urban economic opportunities and the pursuit of higher education.  The plan hopes to increase student performance, increase economic stimulus by keeping technology jobs onshore and stabilize the U.S. position as a technology innovator by nurturing multi-generational technology professionals.
