Dr. Harold P. Welsch Faculty Champion & Outstanding Entrepreneurial Student Awards
The Coleman Center is currently accepting nominations for the 2010 Dr. Harold P. Welsch Faculty Champion and Outstanding Entrepreneurial Student Awards. The awards will be presented to the winning nominees at e-Motion, the Coleman Center’s annual fundraiser, on Wednesday, May 19, 2010.
Your nomination should include a written description (a maximum of 500 words) of why the faculty member or student should receive the award, and examples of how he or she meets the below criteria. Nominations will be accepted online through Friday, April 16 at 5:00pm. Should you have any questions, please call 312.362.8625 or email cec@depaul.edu.
Dr. Harold P. Welsch Faculty Champion Award
This award will be presented to a faculty member whose passion and commitment to entrepreneurship has a lasting impact on DePaul University students, faculty, and alumni. Nominations are open to faculty in any of DePaul’s nine colleges/schools.
Faculty must be nominated by a fellow DePaul faculty/staff member, or DePaul student. We encourage you to nominate a faculty member who meets or exceeds the following criteria:
- Has demonstrated a high commitment to entrepreneurship at DePaul
- Incorporates entrepreneurial thinking into the classroom and encourages students to be more entrepreneurial-minded
- Has served as an ambassador of entrepreneurship at DePaul within both the university and Chicagoland communities
2009 Recipient: John Lump (COM ’83)
2008 Recipient: Dr. Patrick J. Murphy
Outstanding Entrepreneurial Student Award
This award will be presented to one student whose entrepreneurial spirit, achievements, and advocacy are matched by a commitment to education and making a difference in society. Nominations are open to students in any of DePaul’s nine colleges/schools.
Students must be nominated by a fellow DePaul student, or DePaul faculty/staff member. We encourage you to nominate a student who meets or exceeds the following criteria:
- Has demonstrated a high commitment to being a DePaul student-entrepreneur in the classroom and through participation in extracurricular activities
- Has dedicated him or herself to planning and growing an entrepreneurial venture while also pursuing and completing an education
- Has served as an ambassador of entrepreneurship at DePaul within both the university and Chicagoland communities
- Shows exceeding promise of becoming a socially responsible entrepreneur and an engaged alumnus
